What a Busy Week!
Hi there parents and caregivers. Our third week culminated
today with the Grade 4 Assembly. Both classes worked hard to present
interesting performances that covered all elements of the UOI topic, Water.
There were songs with actions from 4A, a poetry reading by Eman and a mime set
to a video by 4B. Some children presented posters on the water cycle and still
others honed their presentation skills by introducing their classmates and
interacting with the Primary students. The feedback was positive and the
children all seemed to have a lot of fun.
Another highlight in 4A this week was the beginning of buddy
reading with Miss Lucy’s Year 2 class. The students were happily engaged in
shared reading, and the Year 4 students showed a very caring attitude towards
their little friends.
Leveled reading will begin next week where the children will
bring home nightly reading on three days. Thank you for offers of help with out
reading programme. I will contact you within the next couple of weeks if I need
assistance.
Talking of assistance, we have Miss Seham, the Year 4
teacher aid, who will start spending time in the two classes. She is looking
forward to having more contact with the children.
Please take time to sign the children’s homework contracts.
They are finding many outlets for their
creativity and I am delighted and impressed with their information reports,
plays and skits, and poetry writing which sprang forth from the homework
inquiry task this week.
Have a restful, happy weekend everyone.
