Our first Unit of Inquiry this year fell under the organising theme 'Sharing the Planet'. The Central Idea for this unit was 'Our planet has limited resources that are unevenly distributed'. We looked at how water use is distributed globally, nationally and locally. We also spent time thinking about equitable water distribution. 

Year 4 students took action by observing and recording how water is used at their homes. They thought carefully about whether any water was being wasted.  Using their observations, they created an action plan on realistic changes they could try at home with their family.  They brought their action plans to school.  Anishka wrote a book, Layla  made a Power Point Presentation, Aya and Hassan created a poster each, Joseph chose to make a pop-up card, Leen created a poster, Alice and Lucia both put signs up in their bathrooms to remind their family about responsible use of water.
